I began my journalism career at Newsweek as a reporter-researcher and eventually became a senior editor overseeing 10 back-of-the-book sections. Along the way, I spent many years as a writer in the National Affairs section, covering politics, plane crashes, environmental issues, military affairs, health-care reform and societal trends. In all, I wrote 444 bylined stories, including 25 cover stories on some of the biggest news stories on the day. Most of Newsweek's archives from those years have never been digitized. Many of the clips below were found on other websites or recreated from my own paper files.
